Via un korg, dentro l'altra!

Come alcuni di voi sapevano già ho venduto di recente la mia korg triton TR 61, più che altro per inutilizzo dato il genere che faccio (jazz) e siccome alla ricerca di un bel clone, essendo giuovine e non potendomi permettere una fiammante rossa (che ho provato a fondo e mi ha estremamente deluso) sono riuscito a trovare a un buon prezzo (minore di quanto abbia venduto la TR61) un bellissimo CX-3! Cosa devo dire, è semplicemente una favolasebbene il suono non sia il migliore (sia sul leslie che sul click siamo assai lontani dai livelli di Clavia e del KeyB), ma l'Hardware è a dir poca godurioso. Una bomba esteticamente, i due set di drawbars messì lì non nell'angolino funzionano a meraviglia, non mi fanno rimpiangere nessuna rossa nè roland che si voglia. Certo alla fine paghi metà ma pesa il doppio! Tuttavia ci sono sempre le custodie con le rotelle!

Nel condividere questa felicità volevo chiedere a voi eventuali consigli sull'oggetto (soprattuto sulla modalità EX, di cui ho capito poco o niente), ma ora devo tornare a suonare, è troppo forte....

P.S. è la mia seconda tastiera, il mio prime clone in assoluto

complimenti per l'acquisto, in linea di massima è sempre un bel clone, con i suoi pro e contro.
se risparmi qualcosa e gli aggiungi un ventilator o un Tornado sentirai che bomba!

la modalità EX, se ben ricordo, permette (in maniera del tutto "sperimentale" e assolutamente non filologica) di sommare i due set di drawbars per creare sonorità alternative, interessanti per i primi 12 o 13 secondi, dopodichè torni al suono "hammond" e via emoemo
comunque, qui vedi tutto (se non hai il manuale)

consigli....
verifica che sia installato il sistema operativo versione 2, è quello, di fatto, che dà valore all'oggetto (overdrive migliore, leslie migliore, leakage, e altre cose migliorate).

se così non fosse, il nuovo sistema operativo si trova ancora da qualche parte in rete (forse anche chiedendo al sito EKO), ed è upgradabile anche da utente via pc/midi, anche se il processo è piuttosto lungo e Korg consiglia di farlo fare presso centro autorizzato (perchè se durante l'upgrade si verifica qualche errore la macchina poi è inutilizzabile, e tocca davvero portarla in assistenza).

io a suo tempo feci l'upgrade da mè, con fortuna tutto andò a buon fine (oltre mezz'ora di sudori freddi), risparmiando tempo e denaro (se lo porti in assistenza....).

vale la pena fare l'upgrade, perchè il suono cambia e anche parecchio!

Il CX3 non è affatto male, come suoni.
Concordo con Marco sul fatto che se gli aggiungi un Ventilator si difende molto bene ancorq oggi.

All'epoca ho suonato su un CX3 e me lo ricordo come un bell'oggetto, affascinante e con una sua personalità.

Per cui, non posso che farti i complimenti per l'acquisto.

C'è sempre di meglio ma è con la propria tasca che bisogna fare i conti ed è li che va raggiunto il miglior compromesso possibile, poi per il meglio c'è sempre tempo.

Io il CX3 l'ho avuto per un bel po' di tempo... Ero letteralmente affascinato da quella macchina..... ma poi scoltando i nuovi cloni mi resi conto che era solo un discorso estetico, poi il peso dove lo mettiamo???? Però ci puoi appoggiare un'altra tastiera sopra..... emo

cito da un articolo online:

in pratica diventa un altro strumento, per funzionalità e SUONO.
se hai già la vers 2, tutto OK.

se non è installata, ora cerco nei vecchi archivi se ritrovo il file e te lo mando, ma puoi chiedere sul sito EKO.
in ogni caso, se hai la vers uno, spero tu non abbi apagato la macchina più di 500/600 euro! emo

CX-3 Operating System Version 2.0 Addendum
1) Drawbar level curve
Bright
Mellow - new!

The keyboard level scaling per drawbar can be selected from 2 settings. Bright is the same as the current CX-3, and has extra “scream” in the upper end. Mellow smoothes out the upper range of the drawbar, and may be considered more “true” to the real tonewheel sound.

2) Speaker simulation
On
Off - new!

The speaker simulator part of the Preamp parameters can be turned off in Ver.2.0. It opens up a new range of tonal possibilities, and is useful when making organ sounds that are not quite similar to a Hammond. It also makes it possible to use the overdrive effect when using a real Leslie speaker.

3) Assignable modulation wheel

While the CX-3 does not have a Modulation Wheel this new parameter enables you to map incoming Mod Wheel messages (CC#1) to these parameters.

4) Noise level

When a Hammond is plugged into to a Leslie, a certain amount of noise always comes out even when no keys are depressed. The older, more beat-up the organ, the more noise is likely. This variable parameter adds that constant state noise to the sound if desired.
Note – this is different then leakage, which only occurs when notes are held down and is variable according to how many notes are played, what notes are played etc. but this new parameter does include the leakage noise and that amount will still be dependent on the Leakage setting.

On the current CX-3, there is no lower drawbar/manual settings possible in EX Mode. Ver.2.0 adds a three-drawbar sound source to enable split setups for the first time in this mode.

The [EXPRESSION/OVERDRIVE] knob and the expression pedal connected to the EXPRESSION PEDAL jack will still both control the volume. But now the knob will set the maximum level of the range controlled by the expression pedal, enabling you to control the range of the pedal more effectively.

Deep - new!

Shallow functions the same as the current CX-3 does, i.e. it is the “fast” key scan which only uses the first contact (top of the key depression range). When selecting Deep, it will change to the key scan only using the second contact (bottom of the key depression range). This is useful for avoiding any “bouncing” that non-organ-playing-experienced users may encounter. It is also useful when playing the CX-3 MIDI-ed to a synth, to ensure that both devices trigger/sound at the same time.

10) Wheel brake speed
Slow
Fast - new!

Slow is the same as the current CX-3 and is true to the Hammond B3. Fast is closer to the
“Keith Emerson organ abuse” sound.

11) MIDI In to Lower
this function guarantees that the 2nd keyboard will play the lower tone generator without requiring any special settings

Ho il CX3 e penso tu abbia fatto un ottimo affare, io la uso, con grande soddisfazione, per suonare Deep Purple abbinandoci una lower ed il gia' citato Tornado.

Il tastierista giapponese degli Spock's Beard la usa con un 147, e se lo fa Lui, io chi sono per chiedere di più???
